We have been really busy this December. On December 5, Sarah competed in her first gymnastics meet. She got a red on trampoline. She was excited that I got a picture of her doing her seat drop. Sarah had her school Christmas program on December 7. Her class did a great job singing. On December 12, Santa came to Lebo. Then on December 13, Sarah had her piano recital. We are finished with Sarah's activities until January.
Sarah and I went to the Roga Pumpkin Patch today and picked out some pumpkins. Sarah climbed all over the haystacks, and we went on a wagon ride. I lost my phone in the pumpkin patch, but luckily a nice lady called my number until I found it. Then we went to eat with Taylor and Stephanie. We went to the Apple Orchard and picked some apples. The girls had more fun taking pictures than they did picking apples. It was a fun fall day.
We had a great fall weekend. Sarah got to cheer at the Emporia State football game on Saturday. Then Curt and I went to the Nascar Sprint Cup race at the Kansas Speedway on Sunday.
We have a new addition to our family. He is a yellow pointing lab named Scout. We are very happy to have him since our chocolate lab was hit and killed on the highway.
This week, Jaclyn and David stayed with us while Steve and Louise went to Las Vegas. We went to the Topeka Zoo on their last full day with us. We had a great time.
May 19 was my birthday and Sarah's first grade field trip. I got to go with her class on the trip to the Topeka Zoo. It was a beautiful day. We went on a zoo tour, had lunch in the park, and went on a train ride. It was a fun day!
I finally have my dream car. Curt went to Tulsa on Monday and traded his Tahoe for a 2000 VW Beetle. It only has 51,000 miles! I love it! It is a blast to drive.
Last weekend, Sarah and I went with Dawn and Lauren to Oak Park Mall for Lauren's birthday. The girls went to Build a Bear and made bunnies. Then we shopped til we dropped.
Curt and I just got back from our trip to Las Vegas. We went to the Nascar race on Sunday. Our favorite driver, Clint Bowyer, came in second. It was an awesome vacation.
Sarah and I took her friend and her friend's grandma to see "Alice in Wonderland" at Emporia High School. Before the play, we attended the character lunch. It was so much fun. They got the autographs of all the characters, they made flowers, played musical teapots, played pin the red on the rose, and got their pictures taken with all of the characters. It was a really fun day.
Last night, the Evans family gave Sarah a new outfit for Valentine's Day. She just had to wear it today. She was so excited to get to wear a dress to school. She is ready for Valentine's Day. She got her valentines ready all by herself.
We took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday and went to the Emporia Zoo. It was really windy, but it was still warm enough to enjoy being outside. Sarah stood by the wingspan ruler to see what kind of bird she would be. She is somewhere between a barn owl and a red-tailed hawk.
Sarah's class celebrated the 100th day of school today. They had to do a 100 Day Project. Each student had to use 100 of something. Sarah decided to make 100 butterflies. Parents were allowed to help. The two of us spent several nights drawing, cutting, pasting, and decorating the butterflies.
We went to Kevin and Emily's for New Year's Eve. We had a great time eating, visiting, and playing Wii games. These four girls and a boy had a great time playing together.
